Tyler Childers largest headline concert venue to date

I was so excited to share my love of St. Charles and the Hollywood Casino concert venue with friends. We would all agree; if you are a Tyler Childers fan and get the opportunity to see him live, do it!!!

We booked hotel rooms for after the concert months before. I was hoping to check out some more of the St. Charles shops and coffee shops the following morning.

Hampton Inn St. Charles/St. Peters

During the drive I was explaining that Robbie would want me to call and tell the hotel an approximate time we would be checking in. I always tell him that our room is paid for and they could care less if we showed up or not.

I eat crow….

Well, after the concert, we go to check in and my room is secure but my best friend is told they don’t have a room number assigned. The night clerk tried to explain the problem: something about a new system and being overbooked. After sitting there an hour with nothing resolved and tempers flaring, we hit the road back toward home calling every hotel in O’Fallon, Illinois and finally securing a room at Towneplace Suites.

This place was so nice. They worked with us to give us the lower rate that we would have paid at the other hotel. Take a tip from my husband and now also from me and call the hotel before a late check-in to make sure you have a room number assigned.

First Watch

Unfortunately, no St. Charles restaurants or shopping the next morning, but a First Watch was next door. As far as chain restaurants go, First Watch is a favorite. Everyone was happy with what they ordered.

First Watch biscuits and gravy and pancake — Pancakes and Biscuits and Gravy: the hubs likes a combo of sweet and savory 😂

First Watch salmon fritatta — My entree: salmon frittata; it may sound weird but it’s delicious and healthy

First Watch lemon ricotta — Not healthy but delicious and will be hard for me to resist on future visits: lemon ricotta pancake. Thanks for letting this foodie try it, Brad!!

First Watch Chickichanga — Chickichanga: my besties entree. She loved it, especially the potatoes, and our waitress said it was her favorite entree as well.

First Watch Iced Mint Mocha Latte — Speaking of waitress. She was so sweet to include an iced coffee coozie with my iced mint mocha latte

  Yes, for sure, we definitely prefer this concert venue to Nashville. Be sure to check it out St. Charles while you’re there. I have a post about it too. Great town.
