The Dilemma

The Dilemma by B.A. Paris

I adored Behind Closed Doors by B.A. Paris (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️). I frequently recommend it for anyone who loves a good thriller. The Dilemma, though just fell totally flat for me. No upcoming spoilers if you decide you still want to read it after my lackluster review, I promise.

The Dilemma is about this mom who is throwing a helluva 40th birthday party for herself. Why? She had kids and got married early and never had a real wedding. Both of her kids are grown. Her daughter is studying abroad.

The Dilemma switches narratives between the mom and the dad. The entire premise is they are both keeping a huge, life changing secret from each other. They spend the entire party agonizing over those involved in the secret and the fact that they are keeping these secrets from each other.

The Dilemma kept my interest enough to keep reading because I kept expecting some sort of big twist. Nope, never happened.

With how much I loved Behind Closed Doors, I’m definitely not going to count this author out. Any other books you recommend by her?
