Poca Terra Winery

I discovered last summer that there was another winery, less than 15 minutes from my house. I say another because Purple Toad Winery is also 15 minutes from my house. https://purpletoadwinery.com/ I was a wine virgin (unless Boone’s Hill counts as wine) when I started drinking their wines. Purple Toad wines are more syrupy sweet and over the years my palate has changed to dry and semi-sweet wines. If you do go there, I can recommend their Chardonnay as a fantastic, dry option. Poca Terra Winery definitely delivered in the better taste department, but their wine selection is more limited than Purple Toad. https://pocaterrawinery.com/

Poca Terra Winery Chambourcin Sweet Rose
I also sampled the Dry Rose and Oaked Rose. I chose this semi-sweet because I knew my husband would be more likely to help me drink it. He loved it as well.

Another thing I discovered is Poca Terra Winery hosts monthly Relax and Re-Wine events during the warmer months. Lew Jetton, former area weather man, was the vocal talent. I believe he could also be a comedian. I personally loved his song Waffle House Woman. One of my favorite local eateries, Cafe Celebre, was serving up sandwiches and crepes.

Loved the wine pairing options!! We shared the Napoleon Crepe.

Nice, shaded, obviously “homey” ambience
Poca Terra Winery Relax and Re-Wine Event
Our first but definitely not our last Relax and Re-Wine event

The next Relax and Re-Wine event is on July 15, 2023 from 6-9. Featured musician is Melanie Davis and food by one of my favorite local food trucks, Chimney’s Food Truck. I hope to see you there!!
